Job Summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient intake, including greeting and checking in patients, verifying and updating patient demographics
  • Assist patients with filling out consent forms and other necessary paperwork
  • Process cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered
  • Initiate calls, pages, and triage phone calls to ensure timely and effective communication
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and other customer service or clerical duties
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional manner and appearance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • College-level training or education in a healthcare support field
  • Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMRs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and practices
Work Environment

This is a per diem position, working various schedules, including evenings and nights as needed. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and support.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $19.50 to $23.00 per hour.
