Job Summary

The Business Analytics Sr Analyst is a professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. This role requires a deep understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather operational data from various cross-functional stakeholders to examine past business performance and identify data patterns and trends.
  • Provide insights to enhance business decision-making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment, and other areas.
  • Recommend actions for future developments and strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies.
  • May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis, and/or qualitative analysis.
  • Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders all findings.
  • Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities.
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking, and improving decision strategies.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry with specialization in risk and/or regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of financial market structure and products, including investment banking and prime brokerage offerings.
  • Understanding of how firms manage Credit and Market Risk for trading book activity.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and able to demonstrate a firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques.
  • Data tracing, data mining, visualization, analysis, identifying patterns/trends, exploratory data analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in interacting across multiple teams globally and influencing diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while delivering results quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent analytical and business strategy skills.
  • Ability to present to business partners and/or leaders to gain approvals.
  • Project and process management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Self-starter who also has a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and drive results.
Education
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
