Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Painter/Sand Blaster to join our team at ASGCO Manufacturing, Inc. as a key member of our Metal Fabrication Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing finishing tasks, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply primer and 2-part epoxies to metal surfaces
  • Perform sandblasting operations to prepare surfaces for painting
  • Conduct preparation work to ensure surfaces are ready for coating
  • Apply powder coating when necessary
  • Review and interpret written work instructions to ensure accurate completion of tasks
  • Accurately read measuring devices to ensure precise application of coatings
  • Prioritize workloads and utilize available resources efficiently within time constraints
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shop environment, adhering to all company safety procedures
  • Operate company vehicles and make deliveries as needed
  • Perform quality control checks on all jobs and orders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in painting and sandblasting
  • Basic math skills to accurately measure and apply coatings
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and manage time effectively
  • Strong reading comprehension skills to interpret written work instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Pass a background check, drug screen, and other job requirements
Working Conditions
  • Frequently exposed to regulated noise and cold working conditions
  • Work performed in an industrial warehouse setting with potential exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles
  • Required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, and talk, hear, and see
  • Occasionally required to lift moderately heavy objects during the workday
  • Personal protective equipment required on a regular basis, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves, and other required protective equipment
