As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will be a visionary technical leader, driving innovation and shaping the future of our advanced solutions.

In this position, you will provide technical leadership and significantly influence our overarching strategy by establishing technical standards, directing our technical architecture, engineering practices, and methodologies in the web services domain.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design of current systems
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development lifecycle
- Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience developing serverless applications on AWS
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux, C++ or Java, and object-oriented architecture
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in an Agile environment
- Proven track record in building scalable web services
- Experience establishing metrics for engineering and operational excellence
- Extensive experience in delivering secure, highly-available content
- Proven experience in backend service development and modern programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle
- Experience collaborating with product and program management teams
- Advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
- Extensive experience delivering cloud-based services using AWS
- Expertise in Serverless, Containers, IoT, Big Data Solutions, Security, Databases, and DevOps
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences
