We provide essential services to clients in Baltimore County and its neighboring areas, managing various programs aimed at fostering personal growth, dignity, stability, and self-sufficiency for individuals facing economic hardships.
Position Summary:
The Resident Intake Coordinator (RIC) plays a crucial role within CAN's Homeless Shelters, which are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for homeless individuals and families. The RIC is tasked with implementing the 30/60/90-day shelter stay triage strategy, assisting residents in setting personal goals, and formulating plans to achieve these objectives. This position reports directly to the Director of Shelter Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Triage Intake Coordination Approach.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for new residents and ensure data entry into the Service Point system within 48 hours.
- Input intake survey results and maintain accurate records in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), focusing on case management documentation.
- Collaborate with Shelter Managers and health departments to assign residents to suitable shelters based on their needs.
- Support case managers in organizing the initial Triage Team Meeting for residents within the first two weeks of their stay.
- Facilitate communication and attendance for 30/60/90-day team meetings involving residents and case managers.
- Oversee the management and distribution of the Shelter Daily Roster.
- Collect and analyze HMIS data and previous case management records.
- Ensure compliance with HMIS and Intake policies in collaboration with the Shelter Director and HMIS Coordinator.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Exceptional communication skills, with an approachable demeanor.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, with relevant experience in human services or working with at-risk populations.
- Strong administrative and leadership capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, with experience in data entry into HMIS.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
