Resident Advocate

Community Assistance Network is seeking a Resident Advocate to join our team in providing support to low-income residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing the Shelter Resident Guidebook and assisting in maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
The Resident Advocate will work closely with residents to ensure they are meeting their responsibilities, attending classes and meetings, and accessing necessary services. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate and implement programs, and knowledge of community services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcoming guests and visitors, answering inquiries, and ensuring residents complete their assigned chores and attend required services.
- Supervising residents, maintaining a clean shelter environment, and monitoring resident rooms, lobby, and dining areas.
- Completing staff shift checklists, recording shift documentation, and making referrals for clients in crisis.
- Providing daily intake of clients and ensuring they have access to necessary services.
Requirements:
- AA Degree in Human Services or Social Work, or related field, or two years of human service experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to coordinate and implement programs, and knowledge of community services.
- Effective listening, professionalism, and effective communication skills verbally and non-verbally.
- Ability to work well under pressure, strong organizational skills, and a valid driver's license.
