FOSA Director

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of the Foundation of the State Arboretum (FOSA). This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum of Virginia.

The FOSA Director will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the mission of Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum of Virginia. This includes ensuring the proper administration and financial oversight of FOSA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in fundraising, event planning, and volunteer management.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to support the mission of Blandy Experimental Farm and the State Arboretum of Virginia.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners to grow support for Blandy and Arboretum programs.
• Oversee daily operations of FOSA, including budget management, financial reporting, and staff supervision.
• Collaborate with the FOSA Board of Directors, Blandy faculty and staff, and other University fundraisers to achieve fundraising goals.
• Develop and implement special events, donor/member communications, and targeted major gift strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
• At least five years of experience in fundraising, event planning, and volunteer management.
• Proven track record of success in meeting or surpassing fundraising goals.
• Experience with capital campaigns, donor software, and accounting procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong coalitions and relationships.
