We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care tasks.
- Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and report observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care and services.
- Document patient care activities and report data established by policy and procedure.
- Participate in teamwork by responding positively to requests for assistance and promoting a positive work environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Must complete one of the following: PCA externship, PCA internal internship, six months of direct patient care experience, or enrolled in a school of nursing program with a completed first clinical rotation.
- Licenses and certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA), CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure (for Skilled Nursing Facility/SNF/Rehab departments only).
