About the Role:

  • This position involves performing technical tasks for accomplishing defined service delivery work for customer equipment.
  • You will be accountable for performing field inspections, repairs, and design modifications of wind turbine blades and other composite parts in wind turbines.
  • Relocation is not offered for this role, but we expect you to travel extensively, up to 95% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  2. Conduct thorough composite inspections using established procedures and document findings from ground inspections as well as in-depth inspections from cranes, platforms, or aerial lifts.
  3. Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to describe complex damages, prepare inspection and repair reports, and follow up on final resolutions.

  5. Support composite-related design modifications (e.g., diverter strip retrofits, balance blocks, etc.).
  6. Demonstrate expertise in composite repairs in various environments, including working knowledge of composite materials and related repairs.
  7. Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adhere to maximum safety guidelines for all personal protective equipment.
  8. Identify opportunities for process improvements, such as reducing non-value-added operations, increasing productivity, and enhancing safety.
  9. Possess the ability to work in confined/enclosed spaces.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field of composites, preferably in wind turbine maintenance.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required; however, a degree in a relevant field is preferred.

  • Knowledge of composite materials, blade repair, and Microsoft Office Suite is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with spotting scopes, digital cameras, composite repair equipment, and suspended platform rigging and operation would be an asset.
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is expected.
