About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to fill the role of Team Lead. This is a full-time position located at West Hospital, with a rotational call schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership as a clinical expert and coordinate all aspects of the assigned service line.
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, and management on procedural issues and ensure the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the operating room prior to each operation.
  • Coordinate equipment, supplies, and staff to assist with trial studies and research efforts.
  • Develop and implement staff development and orientation programs.
  • Consult with vendors and provide clinical and/or product consultative services.
  • Participate in capital submission process and preference card maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Sterile Processing to research and create instrument sets and preference cards for new surgeons.
  • Coordinate special projects.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Able to resource advanced technology.
  • Documentation of 19 Contact Hours of Continuing Education.
  • Successful completion of Perioperative Services Preceptor class and/or completion of 4 Precepting eLMS modules.
  • Involvement in the organization-wide committee, Surgical Technologist training program, or in the organization recruitment initiatives.
  • Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and recognize problems encountered by the surgeon.
  • Knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
