Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Packaging Corporation of America. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment.

You will work as part of a team to safely perform Preventive Maintenance Activities as well as answer breakdown calls in a production environment. All Maintenance Technician positions are multicraft, and training is provided to develop these skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work as part of a team to safely perform Preventive Maintenance Activities.
  • Answer breakdown calls in a production environment.
  • Develop skills in multicraft maintenance through training.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
  • A Technical Degree in the Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Experience in the Corrugated Packaging or Printing Industry is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Hourly pay with a pay range of $30.23 to $46.89.
  • Excellent benefits package, including Health, Dental, Optometry, and 401K Plan.
  • 1.5 pay over 8 hours and over 40, 1.5 pay on Saturday and Sunday, and 1.5 pay on holidays.
  • Uniforms provided, paid training, and tool stipend.
