Behavioral Intervention Specialist

CP Unlimited is seeking a skilled Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Interdisciplinary Team, you will work closely with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure their mental health and behavioral needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement functional behavioral assessments and support plans using data-driven approaches.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to promote emotional well-being and behavioral growth.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to present psychotropic medication plans and restrictive behavior support plans to the Human Rights Committee.
- Train staff on the implementation and monitoring of behavior support plans, promoting a culture of excellence and quality care.
- Facilitate referrals for psychiatric care, psychological evaluations, and counseling services to ensure comprehensive support.
- Act as a liaison between IDT members, clinics, psychiatrists, hospitals, day programs, and families to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Maintain current certification and become a certified trainer in SCIP or PROMOTE to enhance professional growth and development.
- Master's degree in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology with documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support development.
- At least five years of experience working directly with individuals with MRDD, with BCBA certification a plus.
- Ability to travel and access multiple locations throughout the Hudson Valley, with flexibility to work varying hours, including possible overnight and weekends.
- Ability to provide on-call behavioral service coverage via cell phone.
