Position: Industrial Electrician
Reports To: Plant Engineer
Department: Maintenance Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a range of tasks associated with the installation, upkeep, repair, operation, monitoring, and testing of electrical systems for all manufacturing machinery, automated utility systems, and related support infrastructure, under the guidance of the Plant Engineer or their appointed representative.
- Interpret blueprints and wiring schematics, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical standards.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace general electrical controls, motors, motor drives, relays, starters, and contactors as necessary to maintain equipment functionality, utilizing available schematics and technical documentation.
- Set up and operate standard testing equipment to assess and monitor electrical and electronic circuits.
- Understand components, methods, and regulations regarding the installation and operation of electrical circuits within machinery and facilities. This includes the installation of electrical conduit and fittings as mandated by the NEC and relevant regulations, as well as appropriately sizing and installing circuits and associated components to deliver power or electrical control circuits to designated locations.
- Construct and install electrical control panels and circuitry in accordance with NEC and applicable regulations.
- Perform brazing or soldering tasks as required for various electrical maintenance, repair, and fabrication activities.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, calibrations, modifications, and repairs on production and facility assets, utilizing the plant's CMMS system to document and track completed tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and machine areas.
- Complete necessary reports to reflect the nature and volume of work performed.
- Foster and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Work independently and collaboratively as required.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Adhere to company policies, regulations, procedures, and personnel guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of relevant electrical technician experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent military experience.
