Position Overview
At Great Wolf Resorts, the Retail Attendant plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for guests by facilitating the sale of merchandise and various products. This position involves guiding customers through their purchasing journey while managing the cash register, processing transactions, handling returns, and reconciling the register at the end of the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with guests to assist them in making informed purchasing choices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and actively participate in suggestive selling techniques.
- Ensure that the retail outlet operates in accordance with established procedural guidelines.
- Support merchandising activities, including product display, store layout, inventory management, and pricing of merchandise.
- Perform cash-handling duties, including operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, managing registers, and completing daily financial reports.
- Maintain the retail environment to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service quality.
- Provide assistance in other retail areas as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Some High School education or equivalent.
- Flexibility in scheduling based on operational needs.
- Basic math skills with the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong customer service and communication skills; capable of reading and interpreting English language manuals related to safety and operations.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision.
- Experience handling cash transactions and using Point of Sale systems.
- Strong teamwork capabilities.
- Enthusiastic and energetic demeanor.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
- Capable of bending, stretching, and twisting as needed.
