Job Summary:
The Field Medical Assistant will work to ensure that our clinicians can reach some of the most vulnerable populations and provide necessary quality care. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical and administrative duties, including greeting patients, preparing charts, taking patient histories, and checking vital signs.
- Participate in preventative care reminder programs.
- Travel to assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, group homes, or private homes to assist patients with telemedicine visits. Safely use and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Medical team lead and Clinician at all times.
- Assist in the registration of new patients with Account Managers, as well as occasionally independently.
- Perform Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM).
- Perform a full range of phlebotomist duties (if certified) to include proper venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick procedures using appropriate techniques, and perform set-up and completion of special test-related phlebotomy procedures utilizing appropriate techniques.
- Ensure that all aspects of patient accessioning, specimen collection, processing, and distribution are performed properly.
- Assemble equipment, such as tourniquets, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on the work tray, according to requirements for specified tests or procedures.
- Conduct patient in-processing before specimen collection, including review of paperwork accompanying patients and cordial guidance and assistance.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited MA/Phlebotomy program.
- At least 1+ years of experience in Primary Care or working with a geriatric population.
- Access to a reliable device with video capability (i.e., smartphone or tablet).
- Reliable transportation with a valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Must hold an active CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with electronic health records and Google Suite.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Must be willing to travel within a 25-mile radius of residence.
