This is a hybrid work arrangement, and the selected candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely while also being expected to engage with the team as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive reviews and evaluations of risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial conditions, making informed underwriting decisions regarding submission acceptance or rejection within established risk parameters.
  2. Proactively identify underwriting exposure information needs and seek out alternative, relevant data sources using specialized underwriting tools to enhance risk understanding.
  3. Provide analytical input on policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages, exclusions, and mandatory forms essential for accurate quoting and policy renewals.
  4. Independently develop and implement account servicing solutions while collaborating with Underwriters, ensuring seamless servicing processes for new business, renewals, and endorsements for complex accounts.
  5. Facilitate interactions with brokers, agents, distributors, and customers regarding account servicing matters, establishing strong working relationships beyond the immediate team.
  6. Mentor and support new team members, offering guidance and coaching to peers based on quality outcomes.
  7. Assist in resolving complex transactions and issues, educating colleagues on the context and rationale behind solutions.
  8. Contribute to special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing roles.
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and at least 2 years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing sectors.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4 or more years of experience in Insurance, Underwriting, Finance, Accounting, or Banking.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry and its legal and regulatory framework.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with processing, rating, and policy management systems utilized in the insurance sector.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing product portfolios across multiple lines of business in insurance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting philosophies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with national and local insurance filing regulations and guidelines.
  • Understanding of international insurance programs.
