About the Role:
The CNC Machinist III/Programmer is a key member of our high-precision manufacturing team at Mikros. This role is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC vertical mills and lathes in our state-of-the-art environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up, inspect, and operate machine tools, sanding, lapping, and polishing machines, and lathes with precision to ensure desired results.
- CNC Programming: Program 3-axis mills and EDMs using Mastercam, selecting the correct cutting tools, speeds, and feeds as necessary.
- Tooling and Maintenance: Adjust cutter comp and work offsets on machine tools to achieve desired results, and maintain daily machine maintenance, including coolant concentration and lube oil.
- Quality Control: Ensure quality of work by monitoring processes and performing first-article inspection on all components when required.
- Collaboration and Communication: Successfully collaborate with engineering on product design, create setup sheets, and first-article inspection reports.
- Additional Duties: Perform rough and power sanding and deburring operations, operate inspection equipment, and maintain a positive can-do attitude.
Requirements:
- Attention to Detail: Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Manual Dexterity: Possess good manual dexterity and ability to work with precision.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and at least 5 years of experience in a machinist position.
- Physical Demands: Stand for prolonged periods throughout the day and lift 25 pounds consistently.
