About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Engineer to join our Materials and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Denver, CO.

As a Metallurgical Engineer, you will work closely with our team to conduct hands-on failure analysis, field inspections, and laboratory testing. You will also be responsible for evaluating failure mechanisms and proposing integrity management measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hands-on failure analysis and field inspections
  • Plan and execute laboratory tests
  • Direct SEM operation, metallurgical analysis, and testing
  • Create written reports and presentations
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Specialized knowledge of welding is required
  • Metallurgical engineering knowledge and experience in metallographic and fractographic interpretation, corrosion, fracture mechanics, heat treatment, and/or microstructural development is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute
