The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for organizing social, recreational, purposeful, and spiritual activities tailored to residents with various psychological, physical, and cognitive needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation or a related human services field; or completion of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- At least two (2) years of management experience in a healthcare environment.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and meet the organization's driving standards if operating a company vehicle.
- Ability to comprehend and follow procedures, work assignments, and prepare reports and documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in teaching and training on internet usage and familiar with computer programs such as email and web browsers.
- Minimum one year of experience in activities programming, with knowledge of Alzheimer's and related memory loss.
- Skilled in using computers and electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation.
- Must meet the requirements outlined in Essential Functions.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive lifestyle plan for the facility, including monthly activity schedules and maintaining necessary supplies. Activities may include exercise, arts and crafts, educational programs, and community outings.
- Oversees and trains staff in the implementation of programs designed for specialized areas, in collaboration with administrative personnel.
- Manages departmental budgets on a monthly and yearly basis.
- Participates in training provided by the National Services office or other organizations for innovative programming ideas.
- Responsible for the IN2L (It's Never 2 Late) system and training residents on its use, incorporating internet and email functionalities.
- Coordinates volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition activities.
- Creates and distributes a monthly newsletter for residents and their families.
- Contributes to Life Enrichment goals for each resident as part of their treatment plans.
- Facilitates monthly resident Activity Committee meetings and attends resident council meetings.
- Builds partnerships within the community to secure donations and free or discounted programs for residents.
