Position Overview:

We are seeking a Recovery Advocate Technician who possesses strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills to support our social detox substance abuse treatment center. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.

The Recovery Advocate will be instrumental in fostering a healing and supportive atmosphere for our clients. This role involves close collaboration with medical and nursing staff to provide care for individuals experiencing withdrawal symptoms from substances. Responsibilities include individual client care services and related administrative/documentation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor residents' activities, whereabouts, and adherence to program guidelines throughout the shift.
  • Conduct searches for contraband as necessary.
  • Monitor for substance use, including random drug screenings.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Provide support to clients through active listening and understanding their needs.
  • Model appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
  • Deliver consistent, outcome-focused interventions.
  • Encourage positive behavior among residents with a neutral and respectful demeanor.
  • Exhibit empathy and patience in challenging situations.
  • Assist other teams with medication management, admissions, and coordination.
  • Adhere to documentation requirements for state licensure and accreditation.
  • Screen facility visitors and maintain confidentiality.
  • Participate in scheduled training sessions.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of sobriety if applicable.
  • Must pass random drug screenings and TB tests.
  • Proficient in computer skills and office management.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Overnight

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Certifications:

  • Driver's License
  • CPR and First-Aid training (to be completed upon hiring if necessary)
