Cytotechnologist

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise technical cytological screening and interpretation in accordance with established protocols for both Gynecological and Non-Gynecological cytology samples.
- Refer pertinent cases for hierarchical review by documenting classifications on slides and notifying pathologists of abnormal cell structures for further investigation.
- Assist in coordinating Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Procedure schedules between Endoscopy and Radiology departments.
- Participate in FNA Procedures and execute Rapid On-Site Evaluations efficiently, providing adequacy assessments to the performing physician with professional communication.
- Process and prepare FNA ROSE specimens for examination, ensuring proper record-keeping and labeling of slides and specimens.
- Effectively triage ancillary testing as required.
- Manage the setup and cleanup of the FNA Cart appropriately.
- Accurately input data and results into the laboratory information system.
- Maintain screening workload and quality assurance documentation.
- Serve as a technical resource, assisting in the investigation of operational issues concerning equipment and specimens.
- Communicate scheduling or technical concerns to both operational and medical leadership effectively.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and manage Cytology inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating supply needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Collect data and generate management reports on technological findings through analysis and summarization of information.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control, hazardous waste, and other relevant policies and protocols.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cytotechnologist - Required
- ASCP Certification – Required
- Travel - Preferred
- BLS Certification - Preferred
Work Schedule:
- 10 hours per day
- Day Shift
- 40 Hours Guaranteed per week
Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation:
$65.00 per hour
$200 Completion Bonus
Experience Required:
- Cytotechnologist: 1 year (Required)
Licenses/Certifications:
- ASCP Certification (Required)
