About the Assistant Supervisor Position
The Assistant Supervisor is a full-time role that supports the club manager in overseeing club operations to ensure an exceptional member experience. You will play a significant role in onboarding and training new team members.
In this position, you will lead the team in task completion and drive the achievement of club priorities and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading team members to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Modeling behaviors that foster an outstanding member experience; coaching and inspiring others to do the same.
- Assisting in resolving employee concerns.
- Providing backup staffing support as necessary.
- Managing the inventory system for cleaning supplies.
- Ordering club supplies and retail products.
- Tracking KPIs to identify strengths and opportunities; collaborating with the club manager on strategies.
- Supporting the Club Manager in hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Assessing and assisting in emergency situations.
Daily Responsibilities
- Welcome members and guests as they enter and exit the club, assisting with any inquiries during check-in.
- Promote our Judgement Free Zone by engaging with members on the club floor, offering assistance, and supporting their fitness journeys while adhering to club policies.
- Address member concerns and escalate to a Manager when necessary.
- Answer phone calls in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries.
- Perform membership-related tasks such as sign-ups, updating contact/billing information, cancellations, collecting unpaid balances, and transferring memberships.
- Conduct prospective member calls and tours, assessing their membership needs.
- Accurately execute retail transactions and drive sales goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all exercise equipment and club amenities, including communal spaces.
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and clutter-free by following the routine cleaning schedule.
- Regularly inspect all club areas, promptly addressing safety and cleanliness issues.
- Quickly report maintenance and facility concerns such as broken or missing equipment.
Your Qualifications
- 9-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
- 9-12 months of experience supervising and leading a team is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness).
- Basic computer skills are required.
Physical Demands
- Continuous standing and movement throughout the club during shifts.
- Frequent communication in person or over the phone to exchange information.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals during shifts.
- Regular cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
- Ability to bend and twist to accomplish tasks.
