Job Title: Assembly Supervisor

At Sterling Engineering, we are seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to oversee the operations within our large assembly, small assembly, paint, and electrical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Supervise and develop a team of 15-20 non-exempt employees, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Production Optimization: Enhance production processes for both standard and custom products to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams to improve design, drawings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Generate and maintain reports on production output, quality metrics, and labor efficiency.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Oversee work and kitting queues to maintain job schedules and achieve work center on-time delivery goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety rules and regulations, and investigate incidents to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree in a related field or 8 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or lead role with mechanical assembly experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to assemble and troubleshoot mechanical products, proficient in reading blueprints and using hand/power tools.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work Environment: Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical Requirements: Continuous standing, frequent handling, reaching, and repetitive hand use.
