Overview

The Service Equipment Technician is tasked with diagnosing and fixing service vehicles and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain service vehicles and machinery to fulfill operational needs
  • Utilize tools and equipment for repairs in both shop and field settings
  • Supervise staff and manage shop activities
  • Identify and rectify various electrical systems
  • Reconstruct, replace, or mend components of drilling rigs and related machinery
  • Prioritize and manage repair work orders
  • Assess and suggest repairs along with cost estimates
  • Ensure all repairs are completed satisfactorily
  • Oversee fabrication and assembly tasks in the shop
  • Source and order parts necessary for repairs
  • Establish and implement preventative maintenance schedules
  • Comprehend and apply transportation and safety regulations
  • Maintain a safe working environment for tools and equipment
  • Keep precise records for payroll purposes
  • Willingness to travel as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Certifications
  • Possession of a valid Class B driver's license; additional endorsements are advantageous.
  • Certifications in forklift operation, crane operation, and welding are beneficial.
Experience
  • At least 1 year of mechanical experience
Skills and Competencies
  • In-depth understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Prior experience in drilling and familiarity with the industry is a plus
  • Strong organizational abilities
Physical Requirements

  • While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate small tools.
  • The employee is often required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $24 - $34 based on experience and knowledge of equipment. Benefits commence on the first of the month following the date of hire.

Hourly employees can select from two PPO medical plans through Anthem BlueCross, including our most popular plan, for which Granite covers 100% of the premium for eligible employees. Employees also have the option to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

As part of our commitment to your future outside of work, Granite provides a 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation that salaried employees contribute to their 401(k) plans, which vests immediately.

For projects with joint-venture agreements (JVs), benefits will be governed by those agreements. For positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBAs), benefits will be governed by the applicable CBA.

Benefits may differ for positions located outside of the continental United States.

Base Hourly Wage Range:
Hourly: $28.00 - $35.00
Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors. Collective Bargaining Agreements will apply as necessary.
