The Campus Safety Officer is tasked with patrolling university facilities and grounds, including residence halls, both by vehicle and on foot. Responsibilities also encompass enforcing state laws, administrative regulations, and campus policies, as well as providing emergency first aid and investigating incidents.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of university premises
  • Uphold state laws and campus regulations
  • Administer emergency first aid when necessary
  • Investigate reports and gather witness statements

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Police Department operates around the clock, serving approximately 5,000 students and staff across a 700-acre campus. The department emphasizes community engagement and prioritizes the safety and success of its students.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Completion of a minimum of 60 college credits
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • No felony or domestic violence convictions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
  • Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) certification is required; candidates without certification may be sponsored for training

Compensation and Benefits

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System offers a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in a state pension plan.
