The Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality ultrasound imaging to assist Cardiologists in diagnosing cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture precise ultrasound images to support the Cardiologist in evaluating and managing cardiac patients.
- Aid in conducting Cardiac Monitor scans.
- Assist in performing stress tests.
- Maintain thorough records of patient examinations along with their diagnoses, demonstrating the ability to recognize abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Schedule patient appointments as necessary.
- Support Physicians and patients during stress tests and Echocardiograms, ensuring adequate ultrasound images are obtained.
- Prepare patients for Transcranial Doppler (TCD) examinations and assist nursing staff and physicians.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to establish intravenous access when required for ultrasound-enhanced studies as directed by the physician.
- Administer ultrasound-enhancing agents following aseptic protocols as prescribed by the physician.
The candidate must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate assessment, treatment, or care for patients of varying ages, particularly those with direct patient interaction. This includes:
- Ability to gather and interpret information relevant to patient needs.
- Understanding of growth and development across different age groups.
- Awareness of the range of treatments required for patients.
Competency Requirements
Must demonstrate proficiency through initial orientation and ongoing validation to independently execute tasks and additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description and department-specific competency checklist.

- Formalized Training (Mandatory)
Note:
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal training.
Credentialing Requirements
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Mandatory) RCS OR RDCS
- Basic Life Support Certification (Mandatory) within 30 days of hire
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Mandatory) OR RCS
Status: Full Time Regular
