Locomotive Operations Specialist

This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule from 2pm-10:30pm.
The locomotive operator is responsible for the safe movement of locomotives in and around the facility.

Key Job Elements- Communicate by radio with operator, ground man, supervisors/lead.
- Operation of track switches.
- Operate forklifts to empty bins when not moving locomotives.
- Read and understand written and oral work instructions.
- Able to prioritize workload based on shop needs.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PRS safety policies.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proven ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
- Able to complete work functions with minimal direction.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- Strength - Push/pull up to 150 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Motion - Good manual dexterity, constant standing and walking, frequent bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, climbing ladders.
- Vision/Hearing Requirements - Good visual/distance skills, high noise levels (above 85 decibels).
- Work Environment - Able to work a variety of weather conditions, work on varied surfaces, constant holding ladder and riding on side of moving equipment, work within close proximity to moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places.
- Emotional Demands - Employee is expected to work and cooperate as part of team in order to meet production requirements.
- Safety - Position is safety sensitive, requires working in and around live tracks, strict adherence to safety policies and use of all PPE.
