With over 40 years of collaboration with NASA, we support various space flight initiatives. While most of our work is directly associated with LaRC, we may also assist other industry partners and government agencies as directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). The Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract encompasses three primary work categories: operations, maintenance, and engineering (OME).

The Predictive Testing and Inspection (PT&I) Shop Supervisor is accountable to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager and oversees shop personnel and operations, upholding high safety standards, and acting as the representative for the PT&I program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee assignment, supervision, and assessment of shop performance and task completion, identifying issues and directing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure completion of mandatory training programs.
  • Foster team building and collaboration.
  • Manage work order completion and adherence to timelines.
  • Document identified repairs and findings.
  • Coordinate material procurement.
  • Enhance program management by identifying growth opportunities for the PT&I program.

The PT&I program is dedicated to improving equipment reliability through analysis and immediate troubleshooting of equipment failures. Familiarity with various predictive testing methodologies is essential for effective management.

Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The ideal candidate should possess three (3) to five (5) years of relevant technical experience or two (2) to three (3) years of engineering experience, along with a solid understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance practices. Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively as a supervisor in an industrial or manufacturing setting is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Functional Skills:

  • Experience with work order management – CMMS experience preferred.
  • Ability to conduct failure analysis, including evidence preservation techniques.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices, including work management processes.
  • Understanding of rotating equipment and alignment techniques.
  • Familiarity with lubrication, tribology, and interpreting oil analysis results.
  • Experience in vibration analysis and interpreting vibration reports.
  • Basic knowledge of nondestructive testing methods, including thermography.

General Skills:

  • Experience in team building and management.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Robust troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capacity to learn and work independently.
  • Able to collaborate with various functions, including operators, craftsmen, maintenance personnel, management, and other leaders.

Work Environment:

Office Environment (45%) and Test Environment – may encounter high noise levels, hazardous materials, and industrial settings (45%). Travel between various facilities and test operations is required (10%).

Physical Requirements:

Must possess sufficient mobility to access all areas of test facilities; crawl, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work at elevated levels on platforms and scaffolding. Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, and sit for extended periods, as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.) with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. (50%), Safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) (20%).

Attendance:

Regular attendance is mandatory (100%). Overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required (
