Position Overview:
The role of the Radiology Specialty Technician at MetroHealth involves working at the Cleveland Heights Health Center, providing essential imaging services to a diverse patient population. This position offers a biweekly schedule of 80 hours, with shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and rotating second shift weekends.

Compensation:
External applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, along with potential relocation assistance.

As part of an academic medical center, MetroHealth is dedicated to the professional development of its staff. Comprehensive didactic and clinical training will be provided, ensuring that you gain valuable experience as a Multi-Modality Technician specializing in both CT and X-Ray imaging.

Patient Demographics:
The primary patient population includes:
  • Underserved communities in the Greater Cleveland area
  • Trauma and emergency patients
  • Stroke patients
  • Cancer patients
  • Orthopedic, podiatric, neurological, and rehabilitation patients
  • Operating room and pain management cases
  • Bone densitometry services

Key Responsibilities:
The Multi-Modality Technician will utilize and develop the following skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
  • Administration of IVs
  • Production of high-quality CT and X-Ray images across various settings
  • Coordination and scheduling of patient appointments
  • Patient education regarding procedures and equipment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving in real-time
  • Effective communication with patients and team members
  • Ability to perform under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Collaboration with the CT/X-Ray team

Collaboration:
The technician will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver optimal care to all patients.

Acknowledgments:
The unit has received recognition for:
  • Accreditation of all CT scanners by the ACR
  • Utilization of advanced CT and X-Ray technology
  • Credentialing of all CT/XR Technologists through ARRT

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • Registration as a Radiologic Technologist with the ARRT
  • ARRT CT credential or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Valid Ohio Radiographer License
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain during the probationary period

Preferred:
  • At least one year of relevant experience and advanced certification in CT through ARRT

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and move throughout the day
  • Capability to lift, pull, or push weights exceeding 50 lbs
  • Capacity to maintain prolonged periods of sitting or standing
  • Normal visual and auditory range with or without correction
