Role Overview:

As a Lead Appian Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for guiding the requirements gathering process and ensuring all infrastructure impacts are well understood across the project pipeline.

Your role will involve overseeing the requirements process for significant projects, clarifying needs as necessary, and ensuring that all teams comprehend the business rationale behind the requirements.

You will lead and participate in design and implementation reviews throughout the project lifecycle for critical business initiatives and core engineering projects, ensuring operational readiness before production deployment.

Your expertise in data modeling, system integrations, best practices, and application testing will be essential.

Collaboration with architecture and development teams during business planning sessions will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

You will also review existing solutions, tracking and addressing issues related to resiliency, risk, and performance.

Providing technology guidance for strategic plans and business strategies will be part of your role.

Hands-on coding, peer reviews, and solution design in Appian will be expected.


Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess a minimum of 12 years of IT experience, with at least 7-8 years focused on delivering solutions using Appian.
Familiarity with Appian versions 20x/21x/22x is required, along with the ability to write complex Appian SAIL code rather than relying solely on drag-and-drop functionalities.

A strong understanding of Appian Objects, including Sites, Records, Reports, Tasks, News, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, Web API, Interface Rules, CDTs, and Process Models is essential.

Experience with end-to-end Appian BPM implementations (Design/Develop/Deploy/Package) is necessary, as well as knowledge of frameworks and BPM concepts.
Understanding of Appian Process/Solution and Infrastructure Architecture, including knowledge of Appian In-Memory KDB Engines, sizing, and scaling is crucial.
Familiarity with application servers such as JBOSS and TOMCAT, as well as web servers like Apache, is beneficial.
Expertise in user interface development, ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, is expected.
Experience with agile methodologies for application delivery is required.
Hands-on experience in writing Appian Plugins, including Smart Services, Function Plugins, and Servlet Plugins, is preferred.
Knowledge of Embedded SAIL and J2EE Design Patterns, such as JSPs, Java Servlets, EJBs, and JDBC, is important.
A strong grasp of JMS Messaging Services, Spring Security Framework, and Hibernate Technologies is also necessary.
Broad experience with technologies such as CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular JS, React JS, or the latest UI frameworks is a plus.
Exposure to RPA, AI, and intelligent automation tools will be advantageous.
Experience with SQL coding using SQL Server, MySQL, or Maria DB is required.
