Job Overview

As a Houseperson at the Hampton Inn Buffalo, TX, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional stay. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will make a significant impact on our hotel's success.

The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our public areas, including rooms, hallways, and restrooms. This includes:

  • Cleaning rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and carpet shampoo machine.
  • Cleaning rooms, hallways, and restrooms, including washing walls and ceiling, moving furniture, and turning mattresses.
  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
  • Dusting and polishing metalwork.
  • Collecting soiled linen for laundering and receiving linen supplies from floor shoots.
  • Maintaining housekeeping carts and removing trash collected by room attendants.
  • Walking assigned floors at the beginning and end of shift to collect newspaper bags, newspapers, trash, and soiled linen.
  • Picking up clean linen and refilling the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.
  • Delivering towels, cribs, cots, and other items to guest rooms on request.
  • Performing duties of room attendant when necessary.
  • Sorting linen, stocking room attendant closets, and refilling the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.
  • Assisting room boys/house maids with heavy lifting during super cleaning/spring cleaning of rooms.
  • Cleaning all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
  • Removing soiled linen and trash from the pool side and other service areas and taking to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.
  • Assisting room boys/house maids with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra beds, etc.
  • Reporting missing/found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to housekeeping supervisors.
  • Responding at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
  • Taking up any tasks assigned by supervisors as and when needed.
  • Reporting to work in required uniform and in adherence with the hotel's dress code policy.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
