Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
- Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify healthcare needs.
- Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
- Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
- Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and intervene as needed.
- Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.
- Ensure ventilator, monitors, and other equipment are functioning properly. Ability to troubleshoot alarms.
- Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well under stressful situations.
- Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team.
- Current Idaho State RN license in good standing.
- 1-2 years ICU nursing experience preferred.
- Associates degree in nursing required, Bachelor preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain BLS or BCLS on hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain ALS or ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer into ICU.
- TNCC is required within 18 months of hire or transfer into ICU.
- PALS is a highly recommended advanced course, however, is not mandatory.
- Level I competencies are required to be completed by the end of the first 18 months of employment.
- Level II competencies are required to be completed by the end of the third year of employment.
Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is a full-service hospital with 318+ patient beds. We have the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho.
