Overview:
The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to: welcoming patients, managing phone communications, scheduling appointments, conducting outpatient registrations, handling cashier responsibilities, processing hospital charges, managing insurance referrals, transcription tasks, filing, preparing charts, and executing any additional duties as assigned by the Office/Clinic Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute clerical tasks in designated areas as instructed by the Office Manager.
- Receive and manage phone and written communications in a courteous and timely manner, directing them appropriately.
- Welcome and register outpatients with professionalism and efficiency.
- Document patient arrival times and prepare charts for nursing staff, including informing patients of expected wait times.
- Schedule patient appointments utilizing Meditech/CWS, including managing cancellations and rescheduling.
- Coordinate referral appointments as directed by providers, ensuring all aspects such as insurance referrals, patient notifications, and correspondence are handled promptly.
- Maintain accurate and organized filing of forms, requests, and patient records.
- Prepare waivers and ensure accuracy for all insurance types based on procedures.
- Photocopy materials as needed, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Meditech/EAR/CWS systems as required and seek clarification when necessary.
- Engage with and possess knowledge regarding CIR and registry initiatives within the office/clinic.
- Interact with patients and their families with professionalism, respect, and dignity, providing necessary explanations and reassurances.

Required:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
Working Conditions:
