Position Overview: The Research Scientist will engage in advanced research activities following the attainment of a doctoral degree, working under the guidance of a senior faculty mentor.
Departmental Insights: We are looking for a motivated and innovative researcher with expertise in experimental nuclear or particle physics to become part of our team. Familiarity with detectors utilizing Liquid Scintillators, along with skills in data analysis and simulation using Python/ROOT and GEANT4, is highly desirable. The selected candidate will spearhead a research and development initiative aimed at enhancing the Water-based Liquid Scintillator (WbLS) for future dark matter and neutrino research endeavors.
The successful applicant will play a crucial role in the R&D process, particularly in the advancement of the WbLS technology. Periodic travel to designated research facilities is a requirement. Key responsibilities include managing the operation of the WbLS 30T demonstrator and developing simulations to assess the detector's efficacy.
The initial contract will be for one year, with the potential for extension based on performance evaluations. Candidates are encouraged to submit the following documents with their application: cover letter, research statement, CV including a list of publications, and at least three references.

Essential Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline at the start of the appointment.
Required Skills: Proficiency in both C++ and Python programming languages.
