Job Title: General Helper

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Helper to join our team at Wieland. As a General Helper, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, ensuring the smooth operation of production processes, and providing exceptional support to our team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Effectively communicate with other employees, including supervisors and management, and during shift changes.
  • Interpret traveler tickets for information and pay special attention to appropriate material handling methods to avoid damaged material.
  • Function as a General Helper as needed, performing duties such as operating the Wire Brush machine, Expander machine, Rotary Straightener, Chamfer machine, and Tumbling equipment.
  • Assist with Large Level Winder, Saw helper, cleaning and testing, initializing color code.
  • Record and post information on traveler tickets and daily production sheets.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machines training evaluation form.
  • Able to work overtime as business needs require.
  • Clean and return removed tools.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Cross-train in other areas as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent training as approved by Immediate Supervisor, Next Level Supervision, and Human Resources Department.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of equipment/machine SOPs.
  • Successful completion of Powered Industrial Trucks training.
  • Successful completion of Crane Safety training as prescribed by the Safety/HR Dept.
