Job Summary:

As a Treatment Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care for our residents. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Completing thorough assessments of new admissions and re-admissions to identify skin areas that require treatment
  • Ensuring preventative measures are in place to prevent pressure ulcers, such as specialty mattresses and positioning equipment
  • Providing skin treatments as ordered by the attending physician
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of pressure and non-pressure wounds
  • Participating in wound meetings and other departmental meetings and in-services as directed
  • Responding to call lights promptly and courteously
  • Maintaining the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents, and interacting with them in a respectful and caring manner
  • Adhering to infection control and standard precaution practices when providing care
  • Administering medications within the scope of practice of RN or LPN licensure
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A current, valid LPN or RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems
  • Ability to teach, instruct, and direct orientation, continuing education, and in-services as needed
  • Ability to read, know, and follow personnel, department, and facility policies and procedures, and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements
  • Working knowledge of the rules and regulations related to Long Term Care
  • Neat, professional appearance at all times
