Job Summary:
We are seeking a Gate Guard to join our team at our lumber yard in Branford, CT. As a Gate Guard, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our facility, as well as providing excellent customer service to our visitors and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Guard the entrance and exit of the lumber yard to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products.
- Direct visitors and truckers to various parts of the grounds or buildings.
- Inspect outgoing traffic to ensure that all items leaving the grounds have been properly invoiced and matched to the purchase ticket.
- Perform customer service tasks and assist other yard employees and truck drivers in performing their assigned tasks.
- Handle lumber, plywood, and other building materials as needed to place material in stock.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lumber yard and surrounding areas.
Requirements:
- Solid math skills to accurately count and record inventory.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the security and integrity of the facility.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers.
