Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at Denver Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide support to our Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering high-quality services to students with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions.
  • Administer and score screenings, and assist with data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in educational facility activities, including committees, meetings, and conferences.
  • Develop and implement activities and materials for teaching and practice of skills to address the goals of students.
  • Provide services via telepractice to students, patients, and clients.
  • Document student performance and reports this information to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Provide educator coaching and training to students and educators in the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
Requirements
  • Certificate of completion for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program.
  • Initial School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Authorization through the Colorado Department of Education.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Effective time management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality in all aspects of the work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with frequent interruptions.
