OVERVIEW:
BBSI is currently seeking a dedicated Wax Maker for our manufacturing client in Milwaukie.

OBJECTIVE:

The primary goal is to produce high-quality waxes in accordance with established specifications, following Process Control Procedures, and ensuring timely delivery to the requesting plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

WAX MANUFACTURING:
  • Create and manage wax production schedules to align with demand.
  • Accurately measure wax components and fill production vats.
  • Operate various machinery and control systems to produce wax; monitor equipment during batch production and observe gauges.
  • Conduct tests on wax batches to ensure compliance with specifications and authorize storage or delivery.
  • Address emergency production requests as necessary.
EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT:

Ensure all equipment is maintained for safe and efficient operation, minimizing downtime.

  • Regularly inspect all department equipment visually and through sensors and gauges.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues; report failures or potential issues to the supervisor.
  • Oversee and complete maintenance and repair projects.
  • Perform preventative and process maintenance as directed by supervision and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Clean equipment and tools after use.
INVENTORY CONTROL:

Maintain adequate inventory levels of wax materials and maintenance supplies.

  • Conduct inventory checks of wax materials and supplies.
  • Order materials as necessary to sustain production schedules.
LOGISTICS:

Ensure timely delivery of wax products to all customer plants, including international shipments.

  • Collaborate with team members to provide expertise on transportation logistics for waxes, including the pickup of transfer vessels and long-distance shipping.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous manufacturing experience in batch compound processing or a solid understanding of wax molding processes, demonstrated by three to six months of experience as a Wax Handler or Utility Aid in the Wax Molding area.
OR
  • A combination of relevant training and experience.
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and adhering to specifications, including Process Control Procedures, wax formulas, and test forms.
  • Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

$22.12 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
