About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Human Resources Manager to join our team at Gecko Hospitality in Garden City, NY. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training, and employee development.

This role requires strong analytical skills to analyze HR metrics and use data to drive decisions and improve HR processes. Your ability to build relationships and foster a positive company culture is essential to the success of the role.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process by identifying staffing needs, posting job openings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair treatment for all team members. Act as a liaison between management and staff, providing guidance and support when needed.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and oversee training programs for staff, focusing on skill development, compliance, customer service, and leadership. Identify training needs and ensure team members receive ongoing development opportunities.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on relevant employment laws and ensure all HR practices are aligned with current regulations.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Analyze HR metrics such as turnover rates, hiring trends, employee satisfaction, and performance data to identify areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to management and suggest data-driven solutions to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary structure, benefits enrollment, and other employee perks. Assist in managing payroll and ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with senior management to understand workforce needs and assist in strategic planning for staffing levels, labor costs, and scheduling to align with business goals.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Experience analyzing HR metrics and using data to drive decisions and improve HR processes.
  • Familiarity with restaurant-specific labor laws, payroll systems, and employee relations issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and foster a positive company culture.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
