Key Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Receiving Specialist will oversee the intake of products and materials from external suppliers.
This role includes the handling, unpacking, and organizing of merchandise for appropriate storage or routing within the facility.
Responsibilities also encompass documenting any discrepancies such as damaged items or inventory variances.Core Duties:
Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments and verify them against purchase orders.
Confirm shipment accuracy and address any discrepancies (e.g., overages, shortages, damaged goods).
Examine products for quality, freshness, and compliance with specifications, including expiration dates.
Unload delivery trucks and organize pallets that require storage.
Prepare orders for special requests and restock items as necessary.
Process returned products from stores and prepare them for inventory.
Charge or replace batteries for pallet jacks and industrial equipment.
Ensure proper rotation of products based on expiration dates.
Open master cases for repackaging as needed.
Load trucks for product distribution to the main warehouse.
Adhere to attendance and safety protocols.
Safeguard confidential company information.
Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
A minimum of two years of experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience operating powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is advantageous.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and management.
Ability to follow safety protocols as instructed.
Capability to work independently without direct supervision.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
While performing the duties of this role, the associate may be exposed to varying temperatures typical of a warehouse environment.
