Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our facilities. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, minor repairs, and maintenance duties to keep the building in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Monitor and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Report any major maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including sweeping walkways and clearing debris.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure the security of the building by locking doors and windows as needed.
- Respond promptly to any cleaning or maintenance requests from staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and repairing minor electrical or plumbing issues.
- Perform minor repairs on doors, windows, walls, and flooring, etc.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
- Assemble, set up, and repair office furniture and equipment as needed, including desks, chairs, etc.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, custodian, or in a similar role.
- Experience with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment, up to 50 or more pounds.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
- Basic understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Ability to operate and use cleaning equipment.
- Basic maintenance skills, including minor repairs and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to respond promptly to maintenance and cleaning requests.
- Professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff and visitors.

- Upon completion of your 90-day probationary period, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package at no cost to you, including medical, dental, and vision insurance. We also cover 25% of your dependents.
**Pay rate: Hourly compensation, based on experience and skills.
**Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Overtime as needed.
*Must be able to undergo a drug screening and background check prior to employment.
*Must be able to commute to/from Longview, NC daily.
