About This Opportunity: As a Bid Development Engineer at Discovery Energy Corp, you will play a critical role in developing and submitting proposals that meet the needs of our clients. Responsibilities:

  • You will interpret customer inquiries and requests for quotations to establish an initial understanding of their requirements.
  • You will buil't further understanding of requirements by liaising with customers, either face-to-face or over the telephone as appropriate.
  • You will organize site visits and meetings with major subcontractors and/or vendors as required.
  • You will support the Sales Group in meetings with customers during the bid-process.
  • You will determine the key objectives and possible options to be covered in the proposal, coordinating the supply of necessary information, organizing the various estimates, and defining the scope of supply.
  • You will work in partnership with the Engineering, Commercial and Project Departments to evaluate technical risk and commercial terms.
  • You will compile budget proposals and tenders defining value and differentiators, prices, commercial conditions, comments and deviations and technical specifications for presentation to the client.
  • You will act as focal point for customer queries regarding Proposal submission, providing answers and visiting sites in order to reach agreement and build a positive on-going relationship.
  • You will prepare RFQs for suppliers/subcontractors against specs and T&Cs.
  • You will monitor progress and status of Proposals, maintaining accurate records and keeping the Sales Director fully informed at all times.

Requirements:

  • You should have a good understanding of engineering practice and Clarke Energy products.
  • You should have a sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • You should have a minimum of 1 year experience of working in proposals/sales role within an engineering environment.
  • Prior experience working with combined heating and power (CHP), battery storage, and renewable natural gas (RNG) solutions is desirable.
