Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

At The Fedcap Group, we are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OTR) to administer patient care programs, assist with tests and evaluations, and maintain accurate records. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer patient care programs as planned with and directed by the OTR.
  • Assist the OTR with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures as needed.
  • Follow established departmental procedures and observe safety precautions during treatment implementation.
  • Confer with the supervising OTR on a daily basis to progress patient programs effectively.
  • Promote total rehabilitation services and act as a team member to treatment plans.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental protocol.
  • Provide written and/or illustrated home exercise programs when appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in departmental staff and team meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatment and equipment charges, and submit required statistical and billing information.
  • Write formal progress and/or discharge summary notes (co-signed by the OTR) to physicians on a timely basis.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians and other Allied Health professionals to provide maximal patient care.
  • Participate in departmental program development and take responsibility for special clinics and programs as assigned.
  • Assist in the maintenance and organization of the work area and equipment, noting safety and serviceable defects.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from a school approved by the AOTA and AMA.
  • Registered or eligible for registry by the AOTA.
  • Current license by the State Board of Registration in Medicine.
  • CPR certified or eligibility for certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
