We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Communicative Disorders Specialist to join our team at Dawson County Schools. This is a full-time position, and we offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year.

Job Summary:

The Lead Communicative Disorders Specialist will be responsible for assessing the communication skills of students, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), and providing therapy services to eligible students. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assess the communication skills of students using standardized assessments and observations.
  • Develop and implement IEPs that address the communication needs of students.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including speech and language therapy.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement instructional strategies that support student communication development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress.
  • Participate in professional growth activities to stay current on best practices in communicative disorders.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • A valid Georgia license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with students with communication disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
