Job Title: Maintenance Team Lead

Shoreline Fruit LLC, a leading producer of tart cherries, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Team Lead to join our production facility team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for supervising and implementing maintenance activities to optimize production and ensure safe and efficient maintenance routines. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on training and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and perform routine and emergency maintenance of manufacturing and facilities machinery and equipment.
  • Install, assemble, and test industrial machinery during plant modification and/or expansion.
  • Inspect work for completeness and tools and equipment for accountability.
  • Direct training of maintenance technicians in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Review PM procedures and regularly review and monitor maintenance personnel routines.
  • Assist with developing new PMs for equipment and maintain and/or update current programs with any changes per the direction of management.
  • Assist management in maintaining inventory of spare parts and equipment. Notify manager if parts are needed.
  • Seek opportunities and suggest changes with the use of equipment for production, quality, and to increase efficiency of the maintenance department.
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
  • Support change management and empower and engage employees.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive reliability improvement program which will ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable method.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools for work performed.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
  • Maintain and enforce standards of good manufacturing practices, Lock Out/Tag Out, and good housekeeping.
  • Attend monthly maintenance meetings and other appropriate meetings to stay informed and/or disseminate information on plant-related issues.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's degree or certification in a technical field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Sound skill with standard mechanical and electrical component maintenance, repair practices, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly lift and/or move a minimum weight of 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 50 feet.
  • Have the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small parts.
