Job Purpose

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for implementing the program curriculum for children aged 2-3 years, promoting social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. You will work closely with the Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to provide information and resources to enrolled families, ensuring a collaborative and supportive approach to child development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the children
  • Conduct daily classroom observations, screenings, and assessments to identify areas of strength and weakness
  • Collaborate with the Co-Teacher and Family Advocate to provide individualized support and resources to families
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and development
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 24 units of ECE/CD coursework, including 6 units of infant/toddler education
  • 2 years of teaching experience, with a focus on infant/toddler education
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently kneel and squat, and move quickly in a busy environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-semester units in Adult Supervision
  • 6-semester units in Infant and Toddler education
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (written and verbal)
