Job Title: Functional Safety Manager, Systems

SafeAI, Inc. is a Silicon Valley-based technology company accelerating the transition to autonomy in the mining and construction industries. We are seeking a highly capable Functional Safety Manager, Systems to manage all aspects of the company's safety engineering processes to meet ISO26262 and related safety standards for autonomous vehicle software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and promote a safety culture within the organization.
  • Create and deploy safety processes and workflows to ensure compliance with ISO26262 and related safety standards.
  • Oversee functional safety architecture and develop safety goals from hazard analysis and risk assessment.
  • Guide the safety analysis and assessments of safety-critical software components.
  • Create safety goals and requirements for software deliverables.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of safety work products, including FMEA, HARA, FMEDA, HSI, and Safety Plan.
  • Prepare and conduct safety training for the organization.
  • Manage and coordinate safety certification activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS or MS with 5+ years of experience in safety engineering and risk assessment.
  • Experience performing hazard analysis and risk assessments.
  • Experience deriving technical safety requirements from functional safety concepts, technical safety concepts, and system architecture design.
  • Expertise in embedded software and operating systems.
  • Certification in ISO26262 Functional Safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in steering, braking, and drive-by-wire control systems.
  • Experience in computer vision and/or machine learning.
