Journeyman Plant Electrician

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plant Electrician to join our team in SALT LAKE CITY, UT. As a key member of our Power Supply department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and systems to ensure reliable and safe electric generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment and systems, including digital and analog control systems, A/C and D/C control circuits, magnetic starters, interlock systems, alarms, annunciators, and fire protection systems.
  • Maintain and calibrate electrical equipment, including oil circuit breakers, generator complex, instrument transformers, bushings, commutators, bearings, resistors, controllers, and solid state devices.
  • Repair and maintain electric cranes and other electrical systems on mobile equipment and plant electrical systems, including air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and environmental protection equipment.
  • Set up and test electrical equipment using special testing devices to measure voltage, current, and resistance or locate faults, malfunctions, or device failures.
  • Work from blueprints, manufacturer's bulletins, and instruction manuals to install, troubleshoot, or maintain electrical equipment.
  • Operate mobile equipment such as forklift, crane, backhoe, and cherry picker to install, repair, or maintain electrical equipment.
  • Maintain electrical metering and monitoring equipment, including recording charts, meters, meggars, and scopes.
  • Train and instruct apprentices and helpers as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure continuity of electrical service.
  • Prepare reports on equipment readings, safety inspections, and other special reports as required by supervision.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Must pass IBEW local 57 examination, which includes Electrical Theory, industrial maintenance experience, and practical testing.
