Counselor Resident

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Counselor to join our team at Light Counseling. As a Resident Counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples, providing client counseling services and case management services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide client counseling services to a varied population
- Deliver case management services
- Follow all regulations and company policies in service provision and documentation
- Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques
- Participate in weekly individual and group supervision with an assigned supervisor
- Take initiative to link clients to other services
- Ensure all paperwork is completed related to supervision, supervision updates, regulatory updates, etc.
- Work with community groups around unmet and special needs and carry a special community assignment relevant to Light Counseling's mission
- Prepare reports and forms necessary to satisfy the agency's needs for accountability
- May be assigned to instruct and direct students serving psychological internships
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work or related field or education equivalent to a Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience working with children
- Play Therapy experience
- Experience working with trauma-related disorders using advanced therapy modalities (e.g., EMDR, TFCBT)
- Active and in-good-standing resident/supervisee license with the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- Complete all required background checks including drug tests
